Barry Faulker joined BCM Environmental and Land Law, PLLC during the Thomas R. Hanna merger on June 1st, 2019 and is based in the Keene New Hampshire office. Barry’s Faulkner’s areas of practice include land use permitting, condominium conversions and new condominiums, landlord-tenant law, estate planning and administration, guardianships and new business entities. Barry received his bachelor’s degree in American Government and a master’s degree in City Planning, both from Harvard. He then went on to receive his JD, summa cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School.

Before joining Tom Hanna and the BCM firm, Barry had a 30-year career in transportation planning and environmental analysis, first with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, then with different consulting firms working under contract with federal, state, municipal and metropolitan transportation agencies on new transit, roadway, airport access and ferry projects. Barry’s major projects include three new commuter rail lines into Boston from the South Shore, bus service planning for the MBTA in Boston, and light rail projects in Pittsburgh and St. Louis.

Barry has more than 20 years’ experience as a member of the planning and permit-granting Redevelopment Board in Arlington, Massachusetts. He has served on numerous boards for non-profit organizations and is a 13-year member and former president of the Keene Rotary Club. He is a former chair of the Monadnock Regional School Board, and currently represents Swanzey and Richmond in the New Hampshire House of Representatives.

Barry grew up in Keene, one of the sixth generation of Keene Faulkners, and has a long-standing commitment to preserving the natural beauty and environmental health of New Hampshire. He and his brothers own and manage a 400-acre timber and farm tract in Cheshire County, with a significant portion under a conservation easement to the Forest Society. As part of an arrangement with Antioch University, the family makes the land available and provides grants to Antioch graduate students for environmental studies.

Barry and his wife Carol (also a Keene native) live in Swanzey with their dog, Libby. Their two grown children and five grandsons live in the Boston area.

My career has prepared me to handle a wide range of environmental law cases.
