NH Legislature Passes Bill to Create New Solid Waste Site Evaluation Committee
Governor Kelly Ayotte will soon sign HB 707 into law, which will establish a solid waste site evaluation committee, ensuring that local communities have a voice in the siting process for new landfills
The signing of this law is the culmination of seven years of work by various supporters, the largest of which is the North Country Alliance for Balanced Change (NCABC). Amy Manzelli and the entire team at BCM have worked hand-in-hand with NCABC since the very beginning, providing them with legal counsel and guidance at every step of the way. This groundbreaking legislation will provide New Hampshire towns, including Dalton and Bethlehem, with a system that will thoroughly vet the benefits and harms of landfills and other waste systems proposed by the state. This will help ensure the safety of the environment, promote the cleanliness and beauty of our towns, and protect the health of our citizens. BCM is proud to be a part of this incredible victory!
